Historic Lafourche Parish Collection

Lafitte Country
This resource contains microfilmed copies of unpublished, original typed accounts based on interviews conducted with Louisiana residents of “Lafitte Country” (near Barataria) in 1939. Topics include Berthoud (Berchaud) Cemetery, All Saints Day, St. Joseph’s Day, Voodoo, Adams Family Cemetery, trapping and fishing, shrimp fleet blessing, piroque races, and water funerals.
